In a world of standardized homes, stand out naturally.

With Abodo® New Growth™ Feature Timbers you can choose from a versatile range of profiles, colours, finishes, and applications—available in two grades of thermally modified wood.

Fisher will guide you in selecting from a range of modern architectural profiles—including 4″, 6″, and 8″ fineline, screening, and louver options. Choose horizontal or vertical cladding orientations and achieve your desired aesthetic with our curated range of natural timber finishes.

Why choose Abodo® thermally modified wood?

Fisher proudly pre-finishes and distributes Abodo® New Growth™ Feature Timbers—sustainably sourced from New Zealand plantations.

Abodo® is family-owned and operated by the Gudsell family, who pride themselves on keeping a low environmental impact with future generations in mind.

Abodo utilizes Radiata Pine, which grows rapidly, and produces beautiful renewable timbers. Their products and coatings systems age with grace and natural beauty and their thermal treatment technology creates a very stable moisture content throughout the wood. In turn, Abodo thermally modified wood cladding experiences less grain lifting, warping and bending than non-thermally treated wood.

Grades

Architectural Series

Abodos’s premium cladding, ideal for architectural projects where a largely clear aesthetic is desired. This series includes a wider range of profiles, colours and finishes (including bandsawn and brushed).

Standard Series

Includes some knots and natural features, and is available in a select range of colours and profiles, at a more accessible price. Available in bandsawn finish only.

Program Colours

*Profiles supplied as standard with bandsawn face. Brushed face optionally available subject to a price premium.

Vulcan® Charred Cladding

Inspired by the traditional Japanese timber preservation process of yakisugi or shou sugi ban, Vulcan Charred is a richly textured timber cladding with a unique and highly textured black aesthetic.

* Colour variation may occur due to variation in the natural substrate. The char finish is a sacrificial layer that is expected to flake and wear away slowly over time due to the mechanical action of wind and rain. This will result in change in colour and aesthetic. The speed of erosion will vary depending on exposure and regularity of maintenance coating.

*Profiles supplied as standard with smooth face. Brushed face optionally available subject to a price premium. Smooth face requires sanding prior to coating. Please contact Abodo for recommended coating options.

Natural Weathering Disclaimer:

Colour variation may occur due to variation in the natural substrate. Colour appearance may change as part of the weathering process based on wood surface texturization, site exposure, and the specific opacity / UV protection qualities of the selected stain. For more information or for colour recommendations based on your specific project specs, please contact us directly.

Digital Colour Representation Disclaimer:

Due to the natural, organic characteristics of wood, the actual colour and grain pattern of our wood products may vary. The colours shown on this website and in digital media are for reference only and may not precisely reflect the true appearance of the finished product. While our stains are applied in a controlled factory setting for consistency, differences in lighting, photography, and screen calibration can affect how colours appear digitally. We suggest ordering a sample prior to placing your order.
