Not every wood species performs the same in exterior environments. While some of our products (Western Red Cedar / Thermally Modified Wood) are ideal for siding and outdoor cladding, certain options, such as Douglas Fir, and some SPF /Western Hemlock and grades, are recommended only for soffits and interior applications. This ensures optimal performance and reduces the risk of weathering issues in exposed conditions.
At Fisher, we work closely with trusted mills across British Columbia’s interior to source high-quality Western Red Cedar, Hemlock, Douglas Fir, and SPF. Our suppliers follow strict provincial forestry regulations and sustainable harvesting practices, ensuring that every board we pre-finish is responsibly sourced, graded for quality, and suited to its intended application.
